Article describes from an exhaustive documentary research, an approach on how and who made the picture in the city and state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. A brief background on the social, economic and policy in Mexico, trying to identify major figures and their outstanding work and contributions have helped build the history of photography in Mexico, particularly in San Luis Potosi. Notes with key stakeholders in the locality as bunches ambrotype, daguerreotype and photography also covers some of the studies and photographic services which also co realize the available literature on this topic. Finally, it makes mention of the existence of significant photographic collections result of work carried out between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries by photographers recognized both nationally and internationally.
